Time to reflect........

Time must be one of the most precious commodities we have today.

I had a slice of this commodity today to catch up, reflect and reconect, it was great..............
and I also took some photos.............

In the beginning, there was film............

My photography journey started on our trip around Australia. I purchased a second hand Pentax SLR kit and we hit the road. Plenty of time and no responsibilities.
Any way I have scanned some of these pre-digital archives as a reminder of where it all began..

I have realized that I haven't concluded my post regarding the Camera House Photo Competition, and unfortunately none of our photos collected any accolades or recognition this year.
Well the competition was fierce, the entries were numerous, and the standard was very high. Looks like I'll have to raise the bar, the challenge is definitely on. Any way the winners photos are posted below........

CRIKEY!!! Its Australia Zoo!!!!!

Yes we have all been Crikey-ised by our trip to Australia Zoo. It really is a great place to visit. The kids and I had a wonderful time. We saw Bob, patted Tonka the wombat, fed Bimbo the elephant, rode ponies said hello to Wes. We saw snakes, tigers, lizards, kangaroos, lots of birds and of course croc's!!!! Fritzs it was a big day out!!!!!!! - Check out some of the photos below.

Camera House Photo Competition

Well its that time of the year when the Camera House employees Australia wide submit their photos to the head office. All trying to out do each other for the accolades that go along with being crowned "photographer of the year" There are 5 different categories, and the winning shots are used throughout the year in different advertising and promotional campaigns. Quite a glorious honour indeed. Last year, one of our staff, Melanie, won the "Art" section, with a great photo of a carnival ride at night time, so the pressure is on for Hervey Bay to retain a prize in this years comp. So far, between all the staff, we have submitted around 40 images, so lets hope that one of us can bask in the glorious sunlight of wining a section or indeed the crowning glory of being named "Camera House Photographer Of The Year!!" Anyway below are the images that I have submitted, there will be some very good competition so it will be interesting to see how it pans out. Winners will be announced by the end of the month..will keep you posted with the results.
